Composite decking is a great alternative for those who want the elegance of a wood deck but don't want the upkeep and maintenance.

Traditionally made from wood flour and PVC, a composite deck can last for years and does not require staining, sanding or sealing. Composite decks are fire and water resistant and come in many different styles, grains and colors.

Trex Elevations

Galvanized Steel Deck Frames with Trex Elevations™
With most composite decking materials, the deck planking can be expected to last for at least 25 years. Now, with Trex Elevations™ this same expectation can extend to the deck frame. Trex Elevations™ has introduced a galvanized steel framing system for their composite decking material. They have raised the bar on lowering maintenance for their products.

By using steel instead of traditional lumber, deck integrity is increased, decks are more dependably flat and deck contractors can be more precise in producing crisp corners. Steel beams mimic the usual lengths found in lumber. However, because of the increase in strength, spans can be increased without requiring the usual number of posts for railings allowing for optimal views due to fewer obstructions. The additional strength also permits spectacular cantilevered balconies to be created often with less labor costs then lumber.

When composite decking is used on a second level, the Trex Elevations™ system will provide an aesthetically pleasing look from the lower level because of dark, uniform colored beams. Additionally, the darker colored framing will be less visible when looking down at deck planking. Your professional decking contractor will be able to discuss the types of products that can be used to make this additional covered living space waterproof.

Trex takes great effort to affect the environment minimally in making and producing their products. Trex Elevations™ is no different. Made from 25% recycled steel and being 100% recyclable, this line of Trex® is compliant with the Wildlife Urban Interface and warrants a non–combustible fire rating.

Using quality products is important in deck building but experience and knowledge of deck design and installations is paramount to making a dream design into a reality. Local decking contractors who have a reputation in the community for quality work, knowledge and great customer service will assure each deck will be a personal oasis for decades to come.

When interviewing a contractor, inquire about experience in design and installation and knowledge about the product. Ask to see pictures of completed projects and request reference information from former customers. Trex® products come with a 25-year Limited Residential Warranty, take the time to find a contractor who will make the deck enjoyable for a lot longer than this.

What our clients say

I had the pleasure of working with Kevin of Eastside Decks in February of this year, 2008. I elected to have a TREX deck built onto the rear of my home. Kevin was thoughtful and supportive with advice and recommendations and was very competitive with his professional bid.

I had solicited other Deck Building bids, and Kevin, by far came in with the most value for the product. Kevin was careful and reliable with the building process and appointments and I'm very pleased with the resulting product - the deck turned out very nice. I would give Kevin Everett of Eastside Decks my highest recommendation for professional service and product provided.
